Opened in 2008, the new Fidra House is a purpose built nursing home, situated in the coastal town of North Berwick. Fidra House nursing home has 60 single bedrooms with spacious en-suite shower facilities. There are 2 lifts which access each of the 3 floors. The beautifully decorated bedrooms have telephone and internet access, wall mounted TV and a nurse call system, ensuring prompt attention. Each suite has a comfortable open plan lounge with wide screen TV and dining area with fully fitted pantry. There are 20 bedrooms and an extra quiet lounge to each unit. Fidra House is staffed 24 hourly with qualified nurses and trained carers and is led by manager Margaret Russell, RGN, who has a widely based experience in care of the elderly Indoor and outdoor activities are a daily occurrence. The Randolph Hill Group minibus takes residents out on planned and mystery tours. Landscaped gardens allow residents to enjoy the sun or become involved in seasonal garden projects. The ground floor lounge doors open into seated areas where, weather permitting, morning coffee and snacks can be enjoyed. The named nurse and keyworker concept allows residents to easily recognize their individual care team. Family and friends are welcomed by open visiting.
