Blenham House Nursing Home opened in December 2006 and provides high quality nursing care for the elderly in a community setting. Situated in a busy, urban part of Edinburgh, Blenham House has been designed to allow residents wonderful views of the city and the pentland hills. It is conveniently placed for easy access to central Edinburgh and surrounding countryside. The luxurious accommodation consists of 60 single rooms with spacious en suite shower facilities. Each bedroom has telephone and internet access, wall mounted multi-channel TV with music stations and a nurse call system which ensures prompt attention. 2 spacious lifts access all three levels where there are beautiful lounges and dining rooms to choose from. Blenham House is staffed 24-hourly by qualified nurses and trained carers. Equipment is supplied for all nursing needs and medical cover is provided by the local GP practices. Indoor and outdoor activities are a daily occurence with the company minibus taking residents out on planned and mystery tours. There is a wide variety of activities in the planned monthly programme including indoor bowls, flower arranging and a movement to music class. The ground floor conservatory opens into a patio area where, weather permitting, morning coffee and snacks can be enjoyed. Landscaped gardens allow residents to enjoy the sun or become involved in seasonal garden projects.
